Lauderdale-By-The-Sea to Celebrate Fourth of July with Family Fun, Parade & Fireworks
LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA, FL — June 1, 2016 — Lauderdale-By-The-Sea will host its annual 4th of July celebration on Monday, July 4, 2016.
Presented by the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Volunteer Fire Department, the celebration kicks off with the annual town parade at 10:00 AM.
Following a route from Bougainvilla Drive (behind Town Hall, 4501 N. Ocean Dr.), the parade will continue to El Mar Drive, heading north on Bougainvilla Drive and concluding at Town Hall. The Grand Marshall is long time town resident Richard Clark, who was recently honored by the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) as its “Citizen of the Year for 2015.” A businessman and former CEO of the Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Clark has been a volunteer member with BSO’s Citizen Observer Patrol, and was instrumental in helping the Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Chamber of Commerce raise funds to buy a new Polaris beach patrol vehicle for the LBTS Emergency Response Team.
“This day-long event is where friends and family can celebrate our country’s birthday, and also celebrate Lauderdale-By-The-Sea,” said Clark. “The Town is an oasis for our family, filled with treasured milestones of my life. Like many others, I’ve watched it grow and thrive over the years. I am honored to be the Grand Marshall and look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to our very special seaside community.”
The parade will be followed by a day of festivities at El Prado Park. Family Fun Day will feature a waterslide and fire truck for the kids, as well as other fun activities. Holiday fare will include hot dogs, lemonade and other kid-friendly food.
The town’s annual fireworks display begins at 9:00 PM at the beach — just north of Commercial Boulevard and El Prado Park. Ride sharing or other public transportation is strongly encouraged.
4th of July Schedule:
